The Venom HC v2 is a hefty 10 gauge cable and is ideal for any high current application or as a cable to provide power from the wall for a Shunyata Line Conditioner. It is available with either a 15A IEC (fits most components) or 20A IEC (only a few audio or video components high-frequency with a 20A IEC). The Venom 3 is a large, 12 gauge cable at home being paired with any component, even large, high power amplifiers and power-hungry video projectors. The 14 gauge Venom 3S is designed for serving front-end components such as CD players, preamplifiers, etc. Choose the Venom 3 throughout the system if budget permits, select the 3S for low powered components when the budget is limited.

I always liked Shunyata power cords and their organic feel they present to the music. my friend was telling me how they released the new Venom3. Man was I in for a surprise. I use Diamondbacks on my system and always like them on my gear. He told me to bring over my Diamondbacks and I did. I put one on his Krell int amp and another one on his Wadia CD player. It sounded very nice we let the cables settle in for a hour or 2 and played certain CD and vinyl tracks out of his audiophile music collection. We then took out the Diamondbacks and put in the Venom3 cables. I knew why he wanted me to bring over my Diamondbacks so he could prove a point. I was thinking to myself maybe, they might do something or 1 thing a little bit better here or there. Man was I wrong they did everything better wider deeper great highs and more weight and more attack and dynamics than the Diamondback Diana Krall's piano keys never sound so good. needless to say for $125 this is a great buy in power cords. And for the final note We did compare it to the Pangea ac-9 the Pangea had better bass but could not even touch the mid-range of the Shunyata. The Venom HC and Venom 3 are available in three configurations:

15 Amp IEC - Standard IEC type connector - fits most every component. Venom 3 and Venom 3S.

20 Amp IEC - Fits all Shunyata line conditioners and a few components (usually large power amplifiers). Your best bet is the Venom HC for these applications.
