    MY TAKE:

Since 1981 Mike Sanders has been producing well made, dependable and great sounding tube electronics. In a word, Quicksilver products epitomize the term value. The company’s designs are simple, reliable and well executed. Mr. Sanders believes in the value of point to point wiring, eschewing circuit boards in favor of more robust junctions between component parts. The quality of each and every part of the design is chosen with the intended task in mind, and is selected for its sonic contribution to the goal. You won’t see advertisements for Quicksilver products in audio magazines. Mike believes that if you offer a quality product, reputation will spread by word of mouth. This cost savings allows Quicksilver to use top quality parts, and labor intensive hand construction, while keeping their prices low. We think you’ll find Quicksilver designs to offer a unique blend of sonic strengths, excellent reliability and superb value.

In particular, the Mono 120 amplifiers (with the KT-150 tubes) from Quicksilver Audio are simply outstanding and are a remarkable value at this price point. Highly recommended - Galen Carol

    The Mono 120 Amplifiers -

The new Mono 120 offers the finesse and transparency of low powered tube amplifiers into the realm of less efficient speakers. Employing only two output tubes, this circuit provides 120 watts without stressing or pushing these tubes to their limit, and with the lowest output impedance and distortion of all the Quicksilver amplifiers, the Mono 120 brings a new level of performance to this power range.

The heart and soul of any tube amplifier is its output transformers. Quicksilver transformers are based on the best designs of the past while using newer materials to optimize performance. The high frequency characteristics of the transformers used in the Mono 120 are exceptionally stable that any type of loudspeaker may be used.

An on-board bias meter allows individual adjustment of each output tube and, with low-noise power supplies and circuitry, the Mono 120 can still be used on very efficient speakers. The 180 Joules of energy storage provide effortless dynamic response, transmitting the full musical impact of sudden shifts from soft to loud.

Price $3995/pair with KT88s. $4395/pair with KT150s (we strongly recommend the KT-150 upgrade - worth every cent)
    Price for 230 volt/50 Hz add $190 /pair.
