Optimum performance from your analog sources requires careful set-up. One of the basic procedures is calibration of vertical tracking force (VTF). A seemingly simple practice, most listeners mistakenly assume that a quick adjustment using graduations on the arm or a cheap balance beam scale is adequate. While those methods may be appropriate for entry-level systems, they have no place in a set-up regime for a high end turntable.

Tracking force affects a number of cartridge parameters and must be set precisely to optimize tracking ability, VTA and alignment of the internal generator assembly. Very small changes can make significant differences. Some listeners feel they can detect variances of as little as little as .05g!

The Measure It from Pro-Ject digital stylus force gauge is surprisingly accurate (to .002gram!) and very cost effective. It’s simple and fun to use and will insure that your set up is accurate. Take it a step further and experiment with the differences subtle changes in tracking force can make.

    FEATURES:

    • 4 digit LCD-Display with backlight
    • Capacity 0 - 5g
    • Variance ±0,002g
    • Auto calibration function
    • Auto off after 120 seconds
    • Replacement batteries supplied
