    MY TAKE:

For more than twenty years Parasound has been a name synonymous with unequaled value. Their electronics are respected for both performance and reliability, and compete with significantly more expensive products. Modestly priced, previous offerings have changed common perception about the level of performance that can be achieved at the price point.

With the introduction of the Halo line, Parasound looks to bring the same level of value and performance to a more upscale market. The ambitious Halo range spans the gamut from state of the art home theater offerings to high end two-channel audio.

For a number of years, the legendary John Curl has worked with Parasound as a consultant. His input has greatly influenced their products and is one of reasons for the praise they’ve received from the audiophile community.
The A 21 is an accomplished two channel amplifier capable of the dynamic impact required for home theater applications, while retaining the ability to reproduce the subtlety and nuance of music. -

    REVIEWS:

The Absolute Sound: "An excellent Class AB stereo transistor amp, designed by the redoubtable John Curl, capable of 250Wpc into 8 ohms (400 into 4 ohms)." - The Absolute Sound - Editor's Choice

    CUSTOMER COMMENTS:

"I have had a chance to burn in the A21 and get an idea of what kind of amp it is. In summary, it's terrific!  Very much in the same tonal family as the JC1's, but with less power. It doesn't seem to be pushed at the volume levels I listen at, so the extra current the JC1's gave me seems not to be an issue.  It may be a little less robust in the bass, but not missing it at this point. What did surprise me was the midrange.  I have to say the A21 is a bit "sweeter" in the midrange to my ears which is welcome.  I can see why this has been such a popular seller for Parasound and has stood the test of time.  The ARC Ref 3 seems to like the higher impedance of the A21 vs. MC402 (66K vs 20k).  More subjective dynamic range than with the McIntosh." - N.T.

"The Parasound/Magnepan is a match made in heaven.  This combination is also very cost effective.  This kit responds very well to upgrading source components.  It sounds fantastic!" - K.W.

Note: We've had exceptional results mating Parasound amplifiers with Magnepan speakers, especially the A21. Parasound not only delivers the power and current the Maggie's need,
but the tonal balance and refined presentation compliments the speakers' character.
