Copenhagen-based Davone is the brain-child of Paul Schenkel. Beginning in 1997, with a deep passion for music and industrial design, Paul set out to design and produce loudspeakers that make all your favorite music sound more beautiful. Eschewing the box-like design common among many audiophile loudspeakers, the visually stunning Davone designs offer a stylish alternative to many of today's loudspeakers. Five models comprise the line offering a wide range of prices and visually appealing styles, one sure to harmonize with any decor.
 

Possibly their most distinctive design, the Ray-S is a loudspeaker that avails itself of the same recognized technological value of Grande, with the objective of achieving new levels of performance in the reproduction of sound. With state of the art components this loudspeaker lofts a beautifully three-dimensional soundstage exhibits admirably neutral tonal response, and delivers unexpectedly explosive dynamics.
 

Real Design Meets High-End Audio -

Function follows form in this innovative design. Eliminating parallel surfaces helps to reduce internal cancellations. The curved laminations of real wood are much stiffer than the fiberboard construction you see on most speakers. Our leather baffle provides a unique look and a purpose in even diffraction. A true work of art to the eye and the ear.
 

The Acoustic Design -

The fluid cabinet shape has not just been an aesthetic choice. The unique baffle shape, combined with the close proximity and off-center mounting of the tweeter and mid toner, gives a more balanced in-room response than the popular tower shaped speaker. Practically this means that great results can be obtained without re-doing the acoustics of your listening room.

Woofer - 8”, Geometrically reinforced aluminum cone, soft low damping rubber surround, rigid die-cast aluminum chassis with extensive venting

Mid Range Driver - 4", Ceramic coated aluminum membrane, soft low damping rubber surround, optimized low distortion motor system

Tweeter - 1", Anodised aluminum dome, flow-optimized vented pole piece with non-reflective chamber, saturation controlled motor system

Sleek Yet Solid Support -

The Ray is elevated to the correct listening position and angle by a dedicated stand. The solid yet shapely design is hewn from 25mm solid steel using precision laser and water jet cutters. The small footprint also decouples the Ray cabinet from the floor. This effective stand design secures the fine dynamics in the low frequencies for more accurate listening.
 

Aerodynamic Tuned Port -

At low volume the port allows the woofer to think it is in a much bigger space which means the sound will “come together” without requiring loud listening. At higher volume, the port activates to allow the driver to really move unrestricted. This perfect system will provide rich, full sound no matter what you're in the mood for.
