    BDP-3 Digital Player -

The Bryston BDP-3 is a bit perfect dedicated player for high resolution digital audio files. Employing a highly-customized Linux OS optimized to provide the highest quality audio performance, the BDP-3 will play high resolution audio files (up to PCM 384kHz / 32 bit and DSD128) from digital storage devices without compromise. The BDP-3 features a high current linear power supply, custom Intel Celeron powered motherboard, and eight gigabytes of RAM for incredible responsiveness, ultra fast performance, and horsepower to spare for future feature additions.

Digital audio outputs are built upon our proprietary IAD Integrated Audio Device. The AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs are fully impedance matched and transformer coupled for the best possible digital audio transmission to the DAC of your choice. Jitter is reduced to virtually undetectable levels.

    Inputs: 3x USB 3.0, 5x USB 2.0, 1x Gigabit Ethernet
Outputs: SPDIF (BNC), AES/EBU (XLR), USB, HDMI
    Control: TCP/IP and RS232
Audio Formats: AIFF, FLAC, WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, and most common audio file formats

    REVIEWS:

StereoLife: "The Bryston BDP-3 is a device that has completely changed our understanding of files, streaming and digital audio in general. Previously, it seemed to us that the key element of a modern audio system is the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and everything that is inside it - the converter, the clock, the analog section, and even the power supply. And the device that is supposed to feed the DAC with data a was much less important. After all, it can even be an unused laptop, right? Not true.

"Bryton showed it to us as clearly as possible. The BDP-3 did not leave any doubt about the issues in using a laptop. The Bryston BDP-3 player crushed it, humiliated it, trampled it and insulted it, and looked at us with pity, as if the BDP-3 wanted to ask why we hadn't paid attention to the device, which was in fact the first element in the digital chain. After all, it's just packets, zeros and ones? If you think so, be sure to make an appointment to listen to the BDP-3, and then we'll talk.

"The best part is that Bryston's transport is also essentially a computer, and a completely archaic one at that. However, Bryston wanted to eliminate everything that could have a negative impact on the sound, and the performance of the BDP-3 proves they succeeded. Even with a mid-range driver, we will get a smooth, coherent, dynamic, and resolved sound with deep bass and holographic stereophony.

"And since this "old PC" (BDP-3) has been certified Roon Ready, maybe from a technical point of view it's not such a bad solution. Knowing the approach of the Canadian company to the issue of reliability, one can expect that the BDP-3 will be a good in- vestment for years to come."

Stereophile: "I found the sound more involving, and it enticed me to listen longer to each selection..." - Larry Greenhill
