Salamander Synergy
Equipment Furniture
Designing an audio/video equipment rack is a difficult task.
Several opposing characteristics must be addressed. The
myriad of requirements are at odds with one another, forcing
the manufacturer into the realm of compromise. As
audiophiles we want rigid support, plenty of open space for
cooling, adjustability and easy access. If we are the only
one involved in the decision, the choices are many and
varied. However, many times the audio or video system
occupies a common space in the home, forcing a compromise in
performance to satisfy a cosmetic requirement. In other
words, you want to display your gear, she wants to hide
it. There may be an answer. If you are one of those
unfortunate souls, you
have no doubt found the road long and hard. Most
audio-only equipment
racks have been
designed with but one purpose in mind, that of supporting
the gear. However, many environments require a more finished
appearance, forcing many among us to settle for an "entertainment
center" purchased from a furniture store - definitely not
the ideal solution. Salamander offer the
Synergy line of equipment furniture that will likely
satisfy all concerned.
The Synergy collection
is exceptionally wide ranging. Here most anyone can find a
rack to suit their needs. A number of styles, sizes,
accessories and finish options combine to form literally
hundreds of combinations. From a simple rack for a few
components, to a large grouping to hold an expansive A/V
system, Synergy can accommodate your needs. Video
components from direct-view sets to large screen rear
projectors and and even plasma's can be accommodated.
The concept behind
Synergy allows an individual to create a rack system
that can be purchased all at once, or piecemeal, a few
pieces at a time.

A myriad of
accessories complete the Synergy range. Doors (with
either glass or perforated metal inserts), side panels of
various materials and finishes, drawers (with or without
media dividers) and even interior lighting are all available
to customize and compliment your system.
Synergy
system prices range widely due to the vast number of
combinations available. That said, a basis audio rack can be
had for as little as $250.
Because the
range is so broad, there is no way to even begin to describe
the options available in Synergy
here. Thus, I invite
you to visit the excellent Salamander website for detailed
information and descriptions, then call us with your
questions or for a price quote.
Archetype is a basic rack design with a
practical and utilitarian philosophy. The Archetype
system employs threaded steel uprights with large nuts and
washers holding solid hardwood shelves in place. The beauty
of this design is the ability to locate shelves any where
along the uprights. Additional shelves can easily be added
later.
