Rega
Turntables
Surely one
of the most recognizable badges in the world of moderately
priced analog gear, Rega has established an enviable position
as a leader in the field.
A significant advantage
of Rega turntables are their simplicity. While you can choose
to use any cartridge with Rega arms, the company offers
their own line of cartridges designed to mate perfectly.
A three-hole mounting system has been devised that allows
several of the Rega cartridges to be mounted on their arms
with a minimum of fuss, requiring little prior knowledge
of set-up techniques.

Installations
of Rega cartridges (from the Elys up) on Rega tonearms is
a breeze. These cartridges come with a third mounting hole
(positioned at the front of the mounting plate), a corresponding
hole is found on the Rega tonearms. Simply align the two,
insert a screw and, bingo, youve just set your overhang!
No muss, no fuss, a simple procedure that anyone can perform.
If one uses the Rega cartridges (highly recommended)
there is no VTA to adjust, just set the tracking force,
lower the stylus and listen to music.
Simple to set-up and easy
on the ears, these 'tables will certainly gladden the heart
of budget conscious audiophiles everywhere.
Step up in the line to the P5
and get even more enjoyment from your listening. The P5
employs the all new RB700 tonearm wired with German-sourced Klotz internal
wiring. An excellent 'table. The new P7 offers an
advanced ceramic oxide platter, diamond ground to
exceptionally accurate tolerances.
At the head of Rega's class sits the
superb P9. This turntable represents the culmination
of designer Roy Gandy's knowledge gained in twenty-five
years of analog design. A host of exotic features and materials,
too numerous to mention, imbue this model with a remarkable
level of resolution; yet, true to the Rega tradition, eminently
musical.
Choose the Rega model that fits
your budget. Whatever that price may be, you'll be assured
that your purchase will reward you with many, many hours
of listening pleasure and faithful service.

P 3-24
The classic P3 turntable has been completely updated. The new
P3-24 features a new high performance plinth material
and a return to the classic P3 styling. The stem to stern
upgrades significantly improves performance in a number of
areas. As the “24” designation in the name implies, the
P3-24 also features a 24 Volt motor similar to the one in
the P5. Thus means you can now use the optional outboard power
supply, the TT-PSU for even better performance.
You can now get the
P3-24 with a factory-installed Elys 2 phono cartridge.
How’s that for plug-and-play simplicity!
· No
unnecessary frills · High performance · Outstanding musical
sound performance for cost price · Rugged reliability · High
quality components ·
Most areas of the
turntable have changed, let's start with the plinth.
The Plinth
The employs phenolic resin laminates for increased rigidity
and better control of resonance and vibration.
The Motor
The P3-24 uses the same very high quality low vibration
motor used in the P5 & 9 turntables. The control circuitry has
been adjusted for the phase angle of the motor coils resulting
in very low vibration. This design change gives a considerable
performance increase over the P3 2000.
The Platter
The platter is hand crafted from floated plate glass 13mm in
thickness. This makes for a superb platter material as it has
few resonance problems and is extremely flat.
The Tonearm
The RB300 was a great arm and Rega had quite a task to improve
upon it, but that they did. The P301 uses a new vertical
bearing housing which improves rigidly and reduces stress in
the main 13mm bearings. This assembly is topped off with the
improved RB700 bias housing and phono cable.

The Optional Power Supply Upgrade
The TT PSU, first developed for the P7 turntable, is a high
quality outboard power supply that is a
simple and significant add-on to the P3-24 turntable
(also for use with the P5 and P7). The TT PSU improves musical
performance by conditioning the electrical supply with a
synthesized low distortion crystal controlled ac input. The TT
PSU gives the added convenience of electronic speed change
control. $375

P5
Employing the all new RB700 tonearm, a one piece
silicone/aluminum casting, offers exceptional rigidity and
reduced mass. High precision stainless steel miniature ball
race bearings are employed and have been affixed via
interference fit (no adhesives required) for an ultra tight
and non resonant union. The arm mounts to the plinth via a
three point fixture machined from solid stainless steel.
The power supply incorporates passive
equalization tuned for each motor that effectively reduces
vibration and noise.

P 7
The new P7 uses a number of
sophisticated design concepts, construction elements and
materials to achieve a new level of performance.
At the heart is the all new RB700 tonearm, a one piece
silicone/aluminum casting, offers exceptional rigidity and
reduced mass. High precision stainless steel miniature ball
race bearings are employed and have been affixed via

and non resonant union. The arm mounts to the plinth via a

The high tech platter is made from compressed ceramic oxide
powder which is fired and then precision ground using
diamond tools. Ceramic weights ring the circumference of the
underside, stabilizing the platter and improving rotational
speed stability.

P 9
The P9 is the product of twenty-five
years of turntable design. This 'table, like all Rega designs,
is deceptively simple. The exacting nature of the P9 requires
a tremendous amount of care and effort during construction,
taking fully ten times the number of man hours required
to build a P3. The P9 employs a unique and exotic ceramic
platter, guaranteeing a superbly precise support for the
LP. The top of the line RB-900 tonearm is a blue-printed
design, that

Incognito
-
Significantly improve the sound of any Rega tonearm
by rewiring with the
incredible Incognito cable. Made from ultra-high
quality Cardas wire, the Incognito harness replaces
both the internal and external tonearm cable. The result
is a single piece of wire from cartridge clips to
the male RCA's that plug into the preamp. Clearly the
very best way to connect a cartridge to the preamp.
The improvement can be
dazzling! $205 for the kit only, $279 installed.
