Stereovox Cables
Chris Somovigo is a respected name in the
audio community known for his ground breaking cable designs.
Most notable among them, the Illuminati digital cable, which
turned the collective audio world on its ear and was was
instantly recognized for revolutionary design, superb
performance and high value, defining a new benchmark for the
industry.
Chris is at it again. His new
Stereovox Studio cables, like his earlier designs, offer
innovative design and remarkable performance. Whether it's
the popular priced Studio Series, or the state of the art
Reference cables, you'll find Stereovox cables offer high
value and outstanding performance.
Studio Series
XV-2 Digital/Video Cable
The is
a flexible, small diameter cable of unusual precision,
constructed from pure tape-wrapped Full Density PTFE Teflon, a
silver-plated copper woven shield, an FEP jacket and a single
high-purity copper conductor with an unusual feature: it is a
micro-sized tube with 0.008" thick walls.
This "microtube" feature gives the
conductor the skin profile of a 32 AWG conductor while
maintaining the lower resistance of a larger gauge. This
permits the XV2 to perform with the agility and grace
of thin-conductors without suffering from their high
resistance - and yet it is also a monocoque product that won't
suffer from problems associated with stranded and "litz"
designs that have purported to solve the "skin-depth vs.
resistance" challenge.
We’ve had the XV-2
video/digital out for audition and it's drawing raves from
everyone. VX2 preserves picture and sound in a way that
conventional cables seem unable to match. At just $149.00
(1M), it may be the bargain of the new century!
Customer Comment: Galen, "Just wanted to let you know I
received the Stereovox cable yesterday. WOW! I couldn't
believe the difference it made. Definitely the best money I've
ever spent on a cable. Everything is at ease, the bass is
fuller, better detailed and more extended and the high end is
smoother, more delicate and seems to go on forever. Vocals are
simply amazing. Music just seems to happen without any effort;
I had a hard time turning it off this morning before work!
I’m using it with a Bel Canto Dac3
and dvd drive in my main system with REF1000 monos, Cardas
Neutral Reference interconnects and speaker cables. I'm
anxious to try it with a better drive... maybe my Simaudio
CD5.3.
Thanks for the outstanding service
and bringing back the music, Galen.

Vespa Interconnects
The Stereovox Vespa
is a small interconnect of unusual precision, constructed from
pure tape-wrapped Full Density PTFE Teflon, a silver-plated
copper woven shield, an FEP jacket and a single high-purity
copper conductor with an unusual feature: it is a micro-sized
tube with 0.008" thick walls.
This "microtube" feature gives the
conductor the skin profile of a 32 AWG conductor while
maintaining the lower resistance of a larger gauge. This
permits the Vespa to perform with the agility and grace
of thin-conductors without suffering from their high
resistance - and yet it is also a monocoque product that won't
suffer from problems associated with stranded and "litz"
designs that have purported to solve the "skin-depth vs.
resistance" challenge.
We’ve found the Stereovox Vespa
interconnects almost universal in their appeal, drawing raves
with every audition. This ability to work well in most every
system is rare. I can think of only a few cables I sell that
fit this mold. Not only is this an advantage at the outset,
it’s a plus later as you change components since the cable
will compliment them as well.
So there you have it, a great cable
at a very affordable price. If you’re shopping for
interconnects in this price range, you owe it to yourself to
give the Stereovox Vespa a listen.
Six Moons Review
Customer comment: "The Stereovox Vespa interconnect is just
what I was looking for. They work very well with the Simaudio
pieces(I5.3 and CD5.3). They sound so much better than the
Tara Labs Vector 1 cables that were recommended by the local Sim dealer."

Firebird Speaker Cables
Firebird
speaker cables employ Stereovox's unique and very successful
design concept:
Hollow, tubular copper conductors and silver-plated copper
micro-filar conductors in a twisted-pair configuration. The
result is of the most articulate, nuanced cables in the world.
Another advantage of the Stereovox
design, Firebird is a surprisingly small diameter,
lightweight cable that is easy to handle. A welcome contrast
to large, bulky alternatives.
Firebird
is outstanding as a single run but can be doubled-up for
Bi-Wire installations, or bi-wire AND employ HDJC jumpers for
a Bi-Shotgun approach that preserves the advantages of
bi-wiring while cutting overall resistance in half.
Universal terminations means you need
not specify spades or bananas - Firebird cables come
with both. Unique X-Shadow Bananas are fitted with universal
push-on spade adapters. That flexibility is not only advantage
now in not having to select a termination, but guarantee
you'll have the correct fitting later should you change
equipment. Great stuff!

Reference Series
600ii
Interconnects
In addition to the cost effective Studio Series products we've
raved about, Stereovox has a flagship line they call the
Reference Series. The stuff is crazy good, but not as well
known among our audience. A recent review reminded me that I
haven't introduced
you to the Reference Series, so I thought it was high time.
I'll write a more detailed evaluation of the product at a
later date, but here's a clip from the review to whet your
appetite: "Let me cut to the chase. The newest Stereovox
600-SEIii and its balanced twin are some of the sweetest; most
intensely musical interconnects on the planet! Assuming you
have a top notch system and a strong appreciation for great
music, the Stereovox interconnects let you listen, and listen,
and listen for hours without so much as a touch of fatigue.
With a lit from within definition and a most beguiling overall
presentation, they are clearly the best under $2000 per meter
interconnects around and compete quite well with the most
expensive and most exotic interconnects I am aware of. They
are the tip top of their class and at $1500 per pair, a no
nonsense bargain." Robert H. Levi, Positive Feedback.
