Rega P5 Turntable

Surely one of the most recognizable badges in the world of moderately priced analog gear, Rega has established an enviable position as a leader in the field.
A significant advantage of Rega turntables are their simplicity. While you can choose to use most any cartridge with Rega arms, the company offers their own line of cartridges designed to mate perfectly. A three-hole mounting system (from the Elys and up) has been devised that allows several of the Rega cartridges to be mounted on their arms with a minimum of fuss, requiring little prior knowledge of set-up techniques.
Installations of Rega cartridges on Rega tonearms is a breeze. Many of their cartridges come with a third mounting hole (positioned at the front of the mounting plate), a corresponding hole is found on the Rega tonearms. Simply align the two, insert a screw and, bingo, you’ve just set your overhang! No muss, no fuss, a simple procedure that anyone can perform. If one uses the Rega cartridges (recommended if you want to keep set-up to a minimum) there is no VTA to adjust, just set the tracking force, lower the stylus and listen to music.
The plinth design of the P5is of a low mass particulate core sandwiched by highly rigid phenolic laminates with an aluminum frame. The Platter is made from 15mm glass topped with a special wool mat.
Finally, the P5 features the new RB-700 tonearm with a tungsten counterweight.
