Tube: Sophia 300B Premium Matched Pair - 1 year warranty
One of the more popular tubes to be released recently, the Mesh Plate 300B has gained a reputation as one of the best tubes of its kind. Most agree this tube is better than any other 300B except the Western Electric, and even in that comparison it isn’t so much which is better, but which you prefer.
In his article for Enjoy the Music, Dick Olsher writes: “I use superlatives sparingly in my reviews, but this is not the time to hold back. The Mesh Plate 300B is one incredible sounding tube. Its premium incarnation, the gold pin version does everything a little better yet. The family sound of these tubes represents a mega leap forward in classic tube sound. Listen and you'll be hooked. Two versions of the tube are offered; standard and Premium. The Premium features gold pins and a stronger plate structure and is the better sounding of the two and thus the only one we offer. They come with a 1 year warranty.
Every Mesh Plate 300B undergoes a rigorous testing and grading process to insure quality. Upon completion, tubes are inspected for cosmetic and physical defects then tested using the custom designed Sofia Curve Tracer. Every tube then receives a listening evaluation to check for noise and filament distortion and is curve traced once again to for matching into pairs or quads.
